This is turning out to be one of my favorite books to read this year. It’s beauty is written in the story the characters the setting all put together a fantastic image movie playing in my head.

Great to be back in the world of Abercrombie, referencing some of the characters that you read during the books and then seen them have their own storyline is fantastic

This book with is filled with such amazing development of the world we found in blacktongue thief. If you have not read this yet, I recommend listening to the audio just to get galvas voice. It fits so freaking well for her. I think that was my original problem when I tried reading this book the first time, now I am locked in and devouring it

Dark. F word is thrown around a lot and I’m into that. Magic system is direct and so easy to follow. Love where things going

What a book. If you liked black tongue thief, this one you get the badass galva in it. Love to hear her voice and see her thoughts as she fights these dirty little effers

Honestly, it’s a surprise. He’s taking a concept that we’re all familiar with zombies, especially if you watched the last of us, and he made the story his own. I’m only about 60 pages in and just the amount of world development and writing alone is worth venture.

The book is slow, but filled with so much lore and character development. What I like about the book is that it is so intriguing, the history and the politics of feudal Japan just grabs you and takes you away.
