“I’m not entitled to anger, because I’m me. I can’t handle anger. I don’t have the strength of character to do it. Only God does. We can trust Him with it. Jesus gets angry, but His character is beyond question, so He is entitled.”

This book has several quotes like this. They are so bold, yet so truthful, convincing and compelling. It challenges me to reflect on this emotion, especially in these times.

So good, learning a lot of contemporary history and how it’s affecting the integrity of our Christian witness.

Loving the book so far. Not only does the author intend to critique the crazy movements of evangelical and radical Christianity, but he also gives us insights and a fresh perspective of the matter, and what makes them so passionate.

Amazing chapter. The author refutes the idea of cessationism, explaining that Acts demonstrates the gifts of the Holy Spirit going beyond, at least three generations after the apostles, to argue that the gifts didn’t end with them.

I had many terrible deliverance experiences in a previous church I attended. Many extremist, out of order and unbiblical manifestations led me to go on a quest for truth in this subject. The pastor brings the best out of every world, applying normative and regulative principles, and remaining faithful to orthodox teachings. It also births criteria to discern and filter unbiblical and odd experiences.

An incredible read so far. God has been using this book to validate the true state of relationships. I’ve been challenged to take more bold steps of faith (because I struggle with building trust), as well as shutting off friendships out of fear where trust was lost and unrepairable.
