I have a beautiful hardcover copy in Spanish that I bought in Colombia in 2018, and have finally submitted to the sad truth that the fluency I needed was above my pay grade. I now have a filmsy paperback copy that's in English and I promise to work my way up to reading that beautiful hardcover. Maybe with the Spanish audio book in between

I know so much about milk and boobies now, this feels like reading a textbook in storybook format

Marking progress because I have better books to prioritize right now and this one is overdue at the lib, was a whimsical rendition of a fictitious flawed childhood

The Hmong people have a phrase, "to speak of all kinds of things." Here's an example of that:

Already obsessed with this book and how it shows cultures "colliding" and how the Hmong see the world

Thickest graphic novel I've ever picked up but it's flying by

Loving how easily these pages are flying by but I also want it to last forever

Even after reading so far into the book I still have no idea how this book is going to end. I'm trying hard not to "accidentally" skip to the last few pages and take a peak at the graphics...

I feel like I'm losing my mind along with the main character. The descriptions of her memory go into so much detail that you feel as if you are thinking them. Terribly sad book, knowing her condition only gets worse and worse moving on...

I really enjoyed this style of writing, I can feel all the emotion that Alice experiences, while also being able to sympathize with the other characters. Here is an amazing sample of Alice getting the bad news, "The sound of her name penetrated her every cell and seemed to scatter her molecules beyond the boundaries of her own skin. She watched herself from the far corner of the room." Talk about going in-depth...
