Dang. I already knew the Amish were cool. I didn’t know they were THIS cool. So interesting to learn more about their beliefs especially through a parenting lens.

Yikes. @ allll of them. The Kennedy’s (including RFK Jr) were so destructive. Woof. I can’t believe the things they’ve gotten away with. But also it’s not like the women in their lives were these upstanding moral angels so that’s interesting and definitely not what I was expecting. Some of these women seemed pretty messed up before they ended up with the extra destructive Kennedy men. Interesting

“We’re sometimes so bogged down by our own emotions and pressures that the slightest mishap by one of our kids will send us over the edge.” the foreword is already so good. We’re raising kids, not flowers!

Was not expecting all of the information on the Vietnam war and the war in Iraq based on the title alone. It’s not my preferred book on tribalism but it’s also so interesting to read about how poorly those wars were handled due to a total ignorance of political tribalism in those countries and what eventually led to the creation of ISIS. Also the section on terrorists and group psychology is FASCINATING

okkk there were a couple lines in the introduction that were pretty polarizing so I was worried that she was working off of premises I disagree with even if I reach similar conclusions - but now that I’m getting into it I can tell I’m gonna like it. Interesting but preparing to be uncomfortable. Facts don’t care about my feelings ig 🫣

Oooh this is the perfect time of year for this one. Why do I feel more spooked out by this read than some of the recent disturbing thrillers I’ve read?! Hahaha
