Mallory finds Colleen in the ravine, and she's in really poor condition. Her had been hit with a brick twice by Krista, and one of her legs were in an un-human shape. She says that she has to pull her out and that it's going to hurt. She pulls Colleen out of the ravine and starts going through the woods. She sees flashlights, and they get rescued. Now it's months later and Colleen is in recovey.

When Mallory wakes up and Colleen is gone, and she becomes worried because she knows that she wouldn't have just left without saying goodbye. She realizes that she has to be a Monroe. So when she goes there, she goes to Bree's room, Bree tells Mallory she needs to leave. Then Krista comes in and Mallory grabs her, Bree and Krista reveal they're the ones that killed Jason, and that Krista is using Bree.

When Colleen arrives, Mallory fills her in on what has been going on at Monroe. Then she and Colleen take a ride back to Monroe, so Mallory could show her the forest that she always ran in to. They hear voices while in the woods, and it's Reid and Tyran. Tyran is asking Reid to lie for her and say that she was in his room. Reid refuses to do so and says that he doesn't even know who she is anymore.

Mallory doesn't have a nightmare that night, which is unusual. This could be due to the fact that Dylan, who was the one behind all the nightmares (and the shirts and followed her). When she wakes up she hears a knock on the door, and when she opens it, it's Reid. Also with him is Colleen. Mallory is very excited to see her and she says that Mallory needs to fill her in on what happened. Then they go inside and sit.

Dylan asks why Mallory killed Brian, and she tells him that it was because she was scared. She also thinks about the night she killed Brain and her and Dylan were together and they kissed and Brian saw, which was the entire reason he was angry, which is what led Mallory to kill him. Mallory blames Dylan for leaving her alone with him. Then Dylan leaves the hotel room out of anger and Mallory begs him to forgive her.

Mallory and her mom are going to get something to eat, and at the diner there is a group of people mourning Jason. Mallory's mom hurries back and drives away quickly. When they get back to the hotel, her mom says that she needs to talk to the school board, but doesn't think it's safe if Mallory goes too. So when her mom leaves, Mallory hears someone at the door and it's Dylan that comes in, and he's really angry.

Mallory and Reid are at campus and decide to bring Mallory back to the hotel because of her mom. When Mallory wakes up the police are there and they question her. They said that the story right now is that she invited Jason into her room and put sleeping pills in his drink, and slit is writs. She says that this wasn't true and to question Tyran, or Krista. The police also reveal that Krista isn't Jason's cousin.

Mallory wakes up and she finds a dead body on her floor. She doesn't know if she's dreaming so she goes into the hallway and screams for help. She realizes that it's Jason's dead body. She faints in the middle of the hallway and wakes up in the hospital. Police come to ask her questions, but she can't remember anything. Mallory and her mom go to stay in a motel since she's not allowed at Monroe. Then she sneaks out.

Mallory has a dream where all she hears is wait from different people like Collen, Brain, Brian's mother, and Reid. When she wakes up she hears a click, and she inspects her room and there's nobody there. So she goes to the window and she sees a bloody hand print. She realizes that it's from the inside of the room, and that it's her. Her bruise on her should was bleeding a lot and so she goes into the bathroom.

Mallory finds out the Jason got into a fight with Reid and when she goes to confront him, he insults her by bringing up Brains murder. Mallory hears a knock at her door at night she opens it, and it's Bree. She asks if she could come in and was really scared, so Mallory gets her knife out. She wakes up and Bree is gone and so is the knife. Nobody finds out about the knife and Bree doesn't remeber there being one.

Mallory goes to the bathroom and she hears Jason talking to Kirsten and when she comes out of the bathroom, Jason looked just like Brian did the night she killed him. She thinks about how she got cut because he pushed her into the glass. She also remembers the time when Dylan (Brain's brother), his girlfriend, and others went to the beach. There Mallory got into a fight with his girlfriend.

When Mallory is about to go to the diner with Reid, Jason accuses her of cutting up her own cloths for the attention. When they get to the diner Reid says that he knows that she didn't do it. When they're about to leave, Mallory takes a big knife that she finds on the counter. When they get back, Mallory recalls when Brains mother went into their backyard and they had to get a restraining order.

Mallory decides to go to Reid's soccer game and when she 's in the stands, he waves at her. She leaves because she doesn't like the attention she got after he waves to only her. When she leaves, Jason won't leave him alone, but she finally gets back to her room. When she does, she knows that someone had got in. Reid comes to her room and she asks if he can check around, and someone had cut up all of her cloths.

Mallory goes to give her jacket back to Reid and she tells him how she escaped. Then she goes back to her dorm and takes sleeping pills, she has the same dream every night where someone is calling her name, and there's a knife and a door. The next day someone touches her shoulder, she feels like she's going to be sick and she sees that she has bruises all down her back. She runs into the woods and almost gets lost.

Mallory and another handful of freshmen are doing an initiation. A part is to kidnap the freshmen, but Mallory escapes and jumps from her window. But she finally gets back with the group. The upperclassmen lock them on top of the roof. Mallory is too cold so she escapes through an open window. The next morning everyone was worried because they thought she died. Everyone was in shock that she escaped the initiation.

Throughout the chapters that I read, Mallory reminisces on home. She thinks about how she first met Brain. She thinks about how his brother, who was her old lab partner must've hated her now. In another chapter she recalls the same night of the murder when her and her friend Colleen were at a party, and Colleen got a call from her crush. She thinks that if she would've stayed she wouldn't have murdered Brain.

When she gets to Monroe she sees Reid, an old friend who's father died. She's nervous to talk to him so she continues on with getting her textbooks. She goes to her dorm and meets her roommate Bree, who smokes. She goes back to meet Reid so that can take a tour. While this is happening, Mallory thinks she sees Brain's moms car, and she runs. This is because she is scared since he keeps following Mallory.

When Mallory gets to Monroe she gets room 101. She sees that there's a pay phone and she decides to call Colleen. When she calls her, her parents find out and she gets busted. Then she thinks that Colleen is calling her back but it's her dad. He is upset that she left without saying goodbye and says that he will get her a phone and ship it to her. Then in the morning she is having a tour of the school.

Mallory always has this dream where she kills Brian again, but still can't seem to figure out why. When she wakes up she discovers that Brian's mom has thrown blueberries on there house and it isn't the first time it's happened. She says that his mom had always hated him. Mallory thinks its best if she leaves so the tormenting would stop. So she doesn't tell anymore expect her mom, and she heads towards the academy.

We find out that this girl named Mallory had killed her boyfriend due to self defense. She is being treated differently by her parents and everyone around her. One day Mallory sees her stuff is back up. Her parents say they're sending her to a boarding school. She goes to tell her friend and when they are talking the the alley and boys come. They make it out and she says that maybe it's good to get away.

Morals, the police officer, asks Frances if it was worth all that she did. The TV shows Grey and his mother being swarmed by reporters. She continuously says no questions please. Then she says that she doesn't know. After that she thinks to herself what she will do next.

Grey kills Thom and rescues Frances. They try to go off the balcony since the rest of the house is on fire. But there's an explosion and they fall. Frances saves Grey but says she's only a ghost and she's not real. She runs away and we find out that Frances had dug Libby's dead body up and placed it in the house. This would mean that there would be no Frances or Libby. Now Frances is free for good.

When Frances goes downstairs she sees Thom in her kitchen. He says that he's here to kill her. He puts all of her evidence in gasoline and light some matches. She runs but doesn't escape, he chokes her and beats her. They realize the house is one fire, so he drags her up to her room to kill her. But when he was about to strangle her, he gets shot in the throat. Frances realizes that it's Grey who had the gun.

Frances tells Grey the truth of who she really is. He gets mad and says that whatever they had is over. Shepard gets Frances and tells her she still has time to fix things. When she wakes us in the morning the police are at her door. They tell her that Shepard was in a bad accident. She calls the hospital and they tell hear that he will be fine. Then she texts the senator and says they need to speak in person.

Frances says the company called Gina Agape killed everyone. They wanted money that they got from the oil. But when Gina Agape convinced the US to cut of the deal, they were angry since they weren't getting anymore money. So when the company went on the Persephone, they thought it was the perfect time to kill them and all the witnesses on board. Now the Senator is getting payed by them for an unknown reason.

Frances sees a video on the phone Grey kept, and it screams and gunshots. Frances doesn't think that this is enough to get the police involved, so she says she'll text Grey and say she remembers things. Grey has them meet up when they do, Grey confirms everything, including the attack. He also says that the gunmen are still out there and if they knew she knows about the attack she'd be killed.

After the police leave, Frances and Shepard talk about why she was on the Libby Too. They can tell that someone is trying to hurt Frances. She admits that she found out about an envelope behind a picture in Grey's room. She goes by the house the next day while they are out, and she gets the envelope. She takes it home and her and Shepard see that its a phone. They look and it's pictures from the Persephone.

Frances goes on the ship "Libby Too" that was made by Libby's father. She falls asleep and when she wakes up she can tell something is wrong. She can see that the ship is sinking. So she tries to escape but can't. She holds her breath and sees that a window is broken. She goes out of the window and cuts her arm. When she gets back to the house the police question her about the sinking of the ship.

Essie/Libby and Grey are on their way to Charleston and he mentions the Persephone. He says that she's lucky she was still in touch with all of her old friends, and she told him that he was lucky he still had both parents. They agreed to stop talking about the Persephone for the time being. They go to a museum and when they get back, Grey's dad yells at him for taking her. He says that he can't see her again.

Essie dreams about being back on the Persephone and when her parents got shot and died. When she wake up she decides to go to Grey's house. When She gets there, his mother thanks her for saving her life. She goes up to Grey's room to greet him. He apologized for the night before and asks if she wanted to go to Charleston with him. She agrees, and they talk about how mad the media was after the Persephone.
