Hmm the hero’s hatred of the cousin (which is pretty obviously gonna be false accusations) is annoying me

This is fantastic so far. Don’t want to put it down.

For book club

Tbh just slogging through to the end at this point. Don’t want to DNF with barely 50 pages left!

Getting repetitive

Ok I get it’s for the pun but it is funny for her to be like “we’re friends yeah????” and then be called best friend in the title

Oh goodness this is clearly very deep in a long and interconnected series

A fair amount of repetition from the author’s The Plantagenets, which is to be expected. I thought waiting 8 months would be long enough, but I should have let myself forget a bit more.

Still having a good time and annoying my husband with medieval fun facts.

The Sherlock stuff was great but why are we in Utah???

My fears were correct. Collectors/etc just aren’t as interesting as the people making the books.

Not enjoying as much as most of the series, unfortunately. I’m not that interested in the treasure hunt plot, and it’s really missing the family aspect (Ashley’s greatest strength, imo)

Finally finishing out one of my favorite series

They’ve reunited, cleared up the miscommunication, kissed, exchanged declarations of love, and he’s planning on proposing in the next day or so.

What could possibly go wrong?

One of the main characters hitting the other in anger (in this case, the heroine punching the hero in the face), regardless of reason (he was being an insufferable ass, telling her he was going to divorce her seconds after they have sex for the first time), is damn near a red line to make me DNF on the spot

Perhaps a lot went on in the intervening books, but I’m not seeing much relationship between this Octavia and the Octavia in book 1
