Soooooo slow. I loved the first one but slightly puzzled as to why. I remember loving the heroine: equal parts tough-as-nail and vulnerable. I think it's the world building? There's only so much you can do in contemporary lit. and I don't need paragraphs to describe an auto body shop turned gym. But onwards. . .
