Loved this series!

Won this ebook in a giveaway so am reading it right away so I can give a review. Have read the first chapter and all is set up for action.

I am following the suggested teacher's order for the book. I am about 2/3 of the way through the book. This was my Great Aunt's school book. So cool to be reading it and knowing she was learning from it. At the end of each selection are questions to make the students think about what they read. There are also a list of words or phrases that may be new to the student that were used to open discussions.

I just got on site today and see I have never started my challenge. I lost my husband of 46 years in September and was completely out of touch for a while. I have broken through the muddle finally. I am going to enter the book I am reading now. Is it fair to add the few I have read this year before this one?

I have only read the first chapter and so much has happened. The victim has been found and rescued by a 12 year old girl. The predator has been identified by the girl...her father.

The owner of a company takes a group of his employees on a fishing trip in South America. They are at a comfortable resort in San Martin, Argentina. Ray has just been murdered and it looks like it was for his priceless antique fishing gear. The leader of the fishing trip is married to an armature sleuth who is determined to find the murderer.

Brian Bennett is a 17 yr. old being tried as an adult for dealing drugs. His homicide detective father is just figuring out why Brian isn't talking. Michael Bennett's newest case involves a 17 year old murder victim who had been tortured and then decapitated. It was discovered he was involved in the drug scene. There's a new group in town and they are monsters.

Not caring for it.

Really enjoying this history book. A lot of information is being given, but not in the dry style of a school book. I'm totally enjoying what I'm reading and learning.

Just being introduced to Tom Christmas and learning how he came to live in the village.

Am now in the Napoleonic years.

Started this one while on vacation, too. This is an historical novel. Lief Eriksen's brother, Finn sails to the new world taking his pregnant wife with him. He is there to bring home the riches his brother, Lief, found in Vinland, which he had discovered a few years prior. So far it has been about their life in the new world. Finn and crew has sailed back to Greenland safely with a ship laden with riches.

I love this author! She describes the characters surroundings and sounds they are hearing, not just the characters actions like so many young authors do. She lets you feel part of the environment, but doesn't over due it. I am thoroughly enjoying the book and can see why it won the Pulitzer prize. When finished, I already plan to look into what else she has written.

So far the book is just relating information about the different Celtic tribes that are spread throughout Europe. that have been written up by different earlier Greeks. Posidonius is just beginning his travels and deciding what parts of the information he is finding is mythical or exaggerated, which he wants to dig into seeking the truth.

Another series I started and forgot about. I have a few more books in the series to go to catch up. In this one Lily is trying to figure out why Nicole Utley jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge, is her boyfriend Sailor doing more than just training with his knock dead gorgeous cousin, Patience Blix, and just where is Selena (a 14 year old witch with lots of untrained power) hiding?

Berniece had a heart attack and Toots and the godmother's are in Charleston to help her in her recovery. Ida has a new line of make-up that is being introduced on TV, Toots is going to dinner with Dr. Beck, Berniece's cardiologist, and Chris and Abby are attending a movie premiere. Chris is hoping to propose to Abby tonight.

This is a nice, easy to read cozy mystery. I needed one after the last couple of books I have read. So far, Carmela and Ava witnessed the death of Marsh Lash, a nasty restaurant critic and obnoxious environmentalist. They didn't see who stuck the meat fork in his neck, but he died right at their feet at the Winter Fest. Quigg Brevard is the police detective's #1 suspect, but Carmela knows he couldn't do it.

A young actress is missing and Toots' stepson, Clay, is too. The Godmother's are sick with worry along with Toots and her daughter, Abby. Sophie tried to conduct a seance to get the spirits to help, but they wouldn't come. Toots has flown in a retired NYC detective now private investigator to help track Chris down.
