I’ve read the second chapter and I’m sort of understanding that type of childhood that David has, it’s a sad one where his mother is obsessed with finding a husband to the point where she neglects him and lets Peggoty become the mother to David. The part that pissed me off is when she said that she didn’t buy a new umbrella as a ‘sacrifice’ to him which like ‘ok’ but you wont sacrifice time for him.

I’m not going to lie. I recognized the book title so I know it’s a classic but I picked it up from a thrift store for $3 and never perused over the synopsis so colour me surprised after reading the first chapter that it’s the life of David Copperfield told from birth (technically pre-birth) to well idk when it ends but I’m excited to find out.

Interesting read so far it’s cool to see the of story that resulted in so much tv a movie representation

Pretty good book, its beautifully written I’m learning new words every page, unfortunately I’ve read my fill for the day since I just read more than 500 pages of House of leaves so I’m taking a break.

I hate Karen, like worst character of the whole story the whole justification of her character is stupid and bad

Though I originally wanted to stop reading for the day I decided to plow on through given how much of each page is deliberately left empty sometimes with short paragraphs, sentences or just words strewn around each page (perhaps signifying the lost parts of the Navidson record erased by the houses anti-memetic properties or the parts Johnny ´blanked out on’ idk yet but I’m excited to find out :).

The ergodic part of the book begins in these pages, I will admit I skimmed through the senseless and hard to read parts just to get through it though I will admit the style it was written in captivates my attention more than the previous one, so it was good design on the author/artists part.

Pretty interesting, though it’s weird having a story get cutoff every page by endless ramblings (4th wall breaking ones). Then again it’s pretty cool entering what I can only assume to be a schizophrenic hallucinations and incoherent discussions.
