there are books that i look forward to reading, books i am ambivalent about reading, and books i have to force myself to read, and this is the latter. like i don't enjoy picking this book up despite the fact that its quite good

and now that i've figured out that its a book about rape, its even harder to read. there's no fucking way the hockey town is going to react to kevin being a rapist and i really am dreading it

the book is trying very hard to feel like a Noah Khan song, and its succeeding, but im very aware that it's also trying very hard.

I can't bring myself to feel too attached to maya, peter, or kevin for some reason. Kiara, Amat, and Benji however... you have my heart
