DNF. MC is annoying, hateful, rude, insufferable.

Jet is allegedly 27 years old, but she behaves like a petulant, bratty 15 year old.

I'm getting tired of stories where a child is literally telling everyone daily that something is happening, someone is in the house and everyone refuses to believe them.

This book is like Wikipedia with horror elements. I find myself skipping pages about Chicago history and such...

I really can't stand Tesla. She's the typical arrogant rich person who thinks she's special just because she has money. Even though I'm halfway through the book, I still have this feeling that I just want her to fail...

Didn't get less annoying. There was a village meeting where they all agreed the new people are not welcome. So why on earth would you sell the bloody house to them? Oh, the village needs more money. OK, then shut your mouth, jeez.

So far I hate everyone. Naomi being all secretive, Morgan being a little shit, and the dude whose name I can't even remember is a proper wet blanket. Good start!

I only now found out this is a sequel... Usually Goodreads is pretty good at marking series, but not this time. No wonder I kept having this feeling that I'm missing something.

They keep repeating each other's names in dialogue every other sentence. Exasperating... 😒

There's just something about the writing style that kills all possible tension and creep factor. So many repetitions and convoluted descriptions...

Gabriela teamed up with her ex husband Rafer (what a name), pretty much against her will. So they set off to Peru to track down the treasures.

They have that sort of relationship I find extremely annoying. Like, the dude finds his greatest enjoyment in saying and doing things he knows annoys Gabriela. It was the case during their marriage too, not only now.

Love these short chapters, so much intrigue! So far I'm getting a strong sense of atmosphere and spine chilling vibes.

A little over the halfway mark I can't help wondering when the moment will come when everything I thought I knew or figured out will be turn out to be something completely different. I'm properly creeped out!

Oh, god, so much eyeroll! This is turning into a telenovela! Somehow nobody has their phone on them, or even in the near vicinity. Casually left in the Ferrari or the barn because somehow that makes sense.

Andy is easily the most infuriatingly annoying main character I've come across. She somehow works at a police station, handling emergency calls, yet she has this habit where her mind just doesn't register things and all she does is think "what?"
