This one is hilarious. Do things the way the British do??! Peas are not a formal vegetable. Passive aggression is your friend. But seriously, I'm glad we're not that polite in Canada and I won't be ironing the bedding.

I won't be able to finish. The description of the horrors of racism is too much for me.

So far I don't like the introduction. I think his motivation is the opposite of mine.

I'm not liking it so far. Maybe it's one of the rare books that are worse than the movie or Broadway.

This has too many bad words and I skipped lots of it because it's too explicit. Not my choice of reading material. Zero stars.

I don't think I will be able to finish this one. There are words the author rightfully uses, but I don't want them rolling around in my head. If only I could expel them and read on. I do appreciate the history lessons, his insight and his heart.

I won't be finishing this one. It's not because of politics. I just can't continue because of the grooming and abuse part.

The stories of older siblings hurting younger siblings are too brutal for me to continue reading. I can't imagine what these families endured. I also can't keep reading, so this will end up on my did not finish shelf.

I'm not enjoying this. I much prefer Dr.Seuss' writing when it comes to the nonsensical and silly. Even Jabberwocky is better. It doesn't help that uses racist words. This may end up in DNF.

I'm glad the author starts with permission to put her book down. It's too hard on my heart so it will go unfinished for now.

It's an idea I wanted to hear more about, but story is too crude for me to continue.

I can't take my eyes off the illustrations. They are so beautiful. How will I return this book to the library? Hopefully the children I teach will be inspired by it as well. If there was an ebook, it might be easier to use in class. The size (it's huge) caught my attention and then I fell in love with the magnolia on the cover. That illustration alone, would make me recommend this book.

I won't be able to finish this book. Some of the descriptions of what happened to children, women and sometimes men, is too hard for me. I know it's important to know and remember, but I will leave that to others who are stronger than me.
