I'm troubled by the predatory grooming of a child and fighting the pull to depression. This feels like 1 star. Looong ago I complained to my English teacher that he seemed to only choose violent or grim books. Now I know that it was partially the transition from children's stories that usually have happy endings to adult books. This is why I'm happy to read children's books to even older kids.

One young man who I realized had never read Green Eggs and Ham protested when I pulled it off the shelf to read to him. Now he tells me it's his favourite book :)
