This is one of those books whose turn of phrase and witticisms make the reader smile

I am quitting this book. The first few in the series were good, but lately the prose has made me queasy - too mushy and decayed.

As a parent of a beautiful, adopted child, this broke me in so many ways

Loved, loved, loved

I loathed this woman.

SO good! Had me turning until the end

Intrigued at first, but now I am feeling a bit of vomit at the back of my throat.

Enjoyed Chapter 25. part 1

i was intrigued by the time I reached page 4, and now on page 26 I want to crawl into the book and claw Sweet Ma's eyes out. i think this is going to be a good one!

I read reviews complaining of the writing style, that it was too verbose. Those people are silly. This is written in the style of Poe\s time and it is not too flowery nor tedious in its descriptions. Enjoyable thus far.

What a fun little collection of short horror stories In The Monkeys Paw kind of way.

Still in the first chapter and I am intrigued and simply blown away (have been since I was in the preface!). My husband keeps hearing loud sighs, sounds of shock and disgust, and me reading out loud enough snippets for him to hear that he has already observed that he's apparently getting the audio version via me.
