The entire time I've been reading this book I've been re-obsessing over Agatha Christie all over again. I'm blown away by her storytelling, characterization, depiction of interpersonal relationships, etc. (even though I already knew all of this).

I am broken. My soul is destroyed. My heart is in pain (literally...I keep poking my chest to make it hurt less).

There are still 100 pages left and I don't know if this ends happily or not but I'm ready for whatever this book wants to give me. WHATEVER THIS BOOK WANTS TO DO TO ME, I AM AGREEABLE TO IT.

Did they just rip out 3 of her teeth in an attempt to cure her headache? I'm traumatized.

Jane Austen is insaaaane for this lol. My jaw's been dropped and that was just the first story.

The amount of animals Tintin & friends have shot so far and I'm only halfway through the book. 😭

This is so cool. Picking this up improved my entire day.

Taking a break from the creepy, life-threatening portal to go book shopping and eat a crepe sounds wild but maybe it's realistic lol.

This is REALLY good so far but also this is the second night in a row I'm reading something creepy/suspenseful and I've gotta stop doing this because it is not fun. My heart is jittery and I keep looking over my shoulder. 😭

Aww! Starlings are definitely still my favorite bird. 😭

My tentative ranking of Jane Austen novels now that I've read them all at least twice:

1. Pride & Prejudice
2. Persuasion
3. Sense and Sensibility
4. Northanger Abbey
5. Emma
6. Mansfield Park

I SO get the hype. I'm so excited for what's coming next.

So much respect to Jane Austen for her referring to marriage as "a trial of the state".

My first thought after waking up a few days ago was, "What if Jane Austen had lived longer and wrote more books?" :')

So Fanny is a little annoying, but in a way like Miss Bates since she is the way she is due to her circumstances.

Edmund is a bit annoying too, although this is because he has a "better than thou" notion about himself ("~I~ must be the role model clergyman in my town") and he's kinda selfish (Fanny slips out of his mind when his mind is full of Miss Crawford).

And with those uncalled for insults, I am for the bed.

Yet some happiness must and would arise from the very conviction that he did suffer.

Fanny being as toxic as anyone with her unrequited love skdhfklsdk.

I think it's hilarious that Fanny & Edmund are 18 and 24* 'cause they're out here talking about "tainted minds" and judging everyone and they're not even adults XD

*24 would normally count as adult but with Edmund's life experience...nah

Fanny reminds me a bit of Jane Fairfax.
