I realize there's racism in classic fiction but Colonel Race's "white men can't be murderers" has thrown me for a loop. Has he not read Agatha Christie novels? Or existed in the world?

I'm in awe of how broken the Count's victims are. Man, I love this book.

The entire time I've been reading this book I've been re-obsessing over Agatha Christie all over again. I'm blown away by her storytelling, characterization, depiction of interpersonal relationships, etc. (even though I already knew all of this).

I am broken. My soul is destroyed. My heart is in pain (literally...I keep poking my chest to make it hurt less).

There are still 100 pages left and I don't know if this ends happily or not but I'm ready for whatever this book wants to give me. WHATEVER THIS BOOK WANTS TO DO TO ME, I AM AGREEABLE TO IT.
