I'm stopping here. This book sounded so good in the reviews but just didn't deliver. It would appeal to a woman, who had sisters, a musical mom, an aloof dad; and someone who enjoys books without a plot.

I should have read some of Barry Hannah's earlier work like Airships or Geronimo Rex. Those may be more of an indication of his better work.

Most likely there are other titles more informative on the subject of dogs in the military than this book. I lost interest before the hundreth page. I did, however, quit this book with an appreciation for dogs that save soldier and civilian lives. So, despite where this book lacks, it gains credibility in that reguard.

I enjoyed the parts where the main character is cracking safes or openig locked doors without keys. However, most of this book is just back-and-forth blah-bah-dee-blah-blah. No thanks. DONE

Getting close to finishing this "bold flavor" book, you guys. It's not raising my IQ at all, but it is funny!

Hilarious!

This is a fascinating book but a tough read. I made it through battles leading up to Vicksburg. I'll probably try to finish the first volume later.
