Never rises above being some sort of “nice guy” fantasy. Maybe Nicky Spanx is trying his best? If he is trying his best then I pity him. Also some of the proposed discussion questions at the end are pretty pretentious Gen. how vapid this novel is.

Woooooo boy are the characters somehow bland and unlikeable. It’s so boring, but I’m giving ol’ Nicholas “Bubba” Sparxxx a fair shot.

A fun spy romp.

Why was this book written? It’s like reading a bunch of Wikipedia articles mashed together. I feel like I’m studying for AP world history. There’s no angle, no personality and no narrative.

Not hateworthy, but reminds me of reading atlas shrugged. There don’t seem to be any stakes or mystery. So I find my self wondering why I would care about any of these characters?

Fun authorial voice, but boring. The character study is surface level.

Suffering from the same tension many biographies suffer from: being a work of history and a work of narrative nonfiction. The narrative nonfiction element is eroded by the exhaustive descriptions of the parks.

OK The dialogue heavy passages really grind the narrative to a halt.
