It’s fine
Don’t love the voice of the FMC - literally or in the novel as a whole. She seems a bit young, bratty. The sibling dynamic is not that developed.

I was sitting in a chair listening around midnight b/c I didn’t want to take this family out of my ears!!!

I super wish I hadn’t started this audiobook.
These women are terrible - I feel like they all deserve whatever they get. I’m praying something else comes up in Libby so I can quit it 🫠

Terrible - the subject of this book is just so terrible. In the first chapter I hated the m c so much that I can’t believe I continued - what I thought would happen did and now it just keeps on being terrible in prison. Reading for Bookclub

This s a 230 page book that reads much longer. Why - there are only 8 chapters but they are so long. Like I only have 2 chapters left & im not sure I care.

Really enjoying the audio version

Read first chapter & definitely want to revisit this in book format from library! Must return as too many on my immediate TBR

Picked back up after a hiatus and am living for morning read!

This book is breaking my heart. Listening to the well narrated audiobook. I started reading the follow up book without knowing it was a sequel. Decided to go back & listen to book 1. I’m glad I did. Very contemplative. I can tell it will be the creation and destruction of a family. It is sadly beautiful. I had never heard of this author.

There are some good tips from a ADHD adult and his wife. Listening to the audio- at times a bit cheesy - but also some great perspective.

This book is so great - I had put nonfiction away for the summer I guess but am so glad to be diving back into this thoughtful book (50%)

I have read 2 others by this author and felt they were accurate, sometimes sad, but very relatable. Something is definitely different about this book- feeling a bit Nicholas Sparks-ish

Stopped at chapter 4 - returned to Libby

Ugh - lots of F words in dialogue which is disappointing/lazy to me. Listening to audiobook narrated by multiple narrators. I was getting into it at about 30% when there is some v violent spousal abuse. Not sure if I’ll finish

Book is amazing- started in Audio - then quickly moved to paper copy. More si fi light than historical fiction. 7 characters from 7 time periods.

Kory recommended b/c of social justice- I didn’t have time to finish on Libby and abandoned at 19%

I really do not like the 2nd main character in the 30’s. Victim of sexual abuse from her step father turns her into a ‘party girl’ - there’s just a tone that’s not f or me. Unsuccessful for me in Audio

The actor voicing the kidnapped girl is not for me! It’s that thing where she starts at level 100 & stays there. Also I’m not sure I understand what’s going on - abandoned at 18%

Yeah - this is not for me in audio - I might try in paper but I can’t hear anymore about rape, shitting, pissing and vomit in my ears. Not sure where author is trying to go with this. It’s atmospheric for sure.

Chapter 5 - lots of gross bodily function descriptions and also violent/lustful thoughts of men. Not sure if listening is ideal. May prefer to read.

Yikes - fairly gross with lots of body specifics and lustful and violent thoughts of men.

Listening and there are lots of randy voiced parts that are a bit unsettling. If I pick back up- print only ( 5 minutes into ‘night 4’)
