Starting to feel really weird about how unashamedly she's just ripping off Middle Eastern "culture" (she's stereotyping, actually). With names like Brahim, Sayed, hanging lanterns, and the CUTTING OFF OF LIMBS AS PUNISHMENT? That's not a respectful, tasteful inspiration from another culture you respect. That's just using stereotypical western lazy understandings of other cultures. It's bugging me.

Ok her writing style has notably improved. Less repetitive so far than in her previous books.

Also, Jesus christ Aelin and Rowan are horny. I'm scared that their relationship, which has taken so freaking long to develop and has had very little emotional depth so far, will turn out to be purely horny physical lust. Please tell me I'm wrong. There's a shared maturity and values that could be built upon. Please be good
