The part about “girls” and how it’s a blessing. She writes it SO well, but at the same time it’s so unbearable 😭 I’m sorry to say that there are probably people who really think that way. Ugh.

A warm encouragement to finally pick up ‘The House on Mango Street’

This time around the sign is on the wall. Never in my life would I have imagined to find little notes of the impact that ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ has had on the character (and I’m also guessing the author) sprinkled all throughout this novel to inspire me to pick ‘The Catcher in The Rye’ back up. Thank you, Lily King, for convincing me once and for all!

OMG, p.54/55 - pure excellence! Lily King, what a writer!!!

The author really loves to write “AND YET”, one could even make it into a drinking game 🥃 but it’s really starting to irk me 🙄
