Very interesting. But there are so many names, ranks, titles, houses and classifications within classifications, I have too much of a headache today to keep giving it the proper attention. I'll continue tomorrow.

I’ve been doing some acomaf and acowar reread because, well, Rhysand (and Feyre, the inner circle and great scenes but most importantly Rhysand) and I’m near the end so it’s time to start a new book.
I’ve been told great things about this and that the ya classification is not correct because 1 there are time jumps and most importantly 2, for the themes and what happens and everything it’s adult, so let's try it.

Some moments are really cute while others are so cringe.
But Nicolet arrival made things livelier, he's witty and funny, and at least he's making Arthur jealous and realize his feelings, so that's good.

She doesn’t seem surprised,and maybe that’s the worst of what she’s done to him—that she continues to witness the terrible things that have happened to him,and she acts like the fact that he can endure them means they aren’t so terrible after all

His mother makes me so angry I want to beat her.She knew what they were doing to him and did nothing,her "I'm sorry,why won't you forgive me?" is beyond insulting

There’s something especially cruel about finding out that your tormentor isn’t random,that they selected you,that they designed the shape of your pain in order to fit you into their destiny. Randomness,chaos,the indifferent universe...they would be easier to bear

I already feel sick thinking of what they must have done to him, please don't make me read details. Those people all deserve to 🪦 because the ones who stood by and watch him get abused are just as bad. And God his mother... can I kick her over and over again?

I don't read much sci-fi, I have read just one alien romance series and a few star wars, so this could turn out to be a great catch or not for me at all, who knows. The premise is very intriguing.

Frederica two younger brothers are wonderful but her sister and her older brother drive me to murder. It would be better if they were bad, evil people, instead they are overall kind and love their family but are shallow, selfcentered, stupid and ungrateful and think themself poor victims.

The fact that he’d do anything for her and doesn’t give a f about anyone else’s feelings (except like 3 other people’s) makes him very efficient

Very simple story, but cute ☺️

I really like Frederica but Alverstoke (the mmc) is the character who shines the most and has a more prominent role, such a great character.

Some aspects are enjoyable and the romance started cute but now it's giving me the hick. This is most likely simply not my sub genre: I can't get behind this romanticization of not respecting what someone is telling you presented as "she's in love with him so it's actually fine" even in fiction.
Pity because some elements are really nice.

It has its cute moments but also things that don't work much for me

it was such an immediate, instinctual movement. Like he didn’t even think about it. Like he couldn’t have stopped himself even if he had.
After all of this, after I had damned him and betrayed him and lied to him, he still reached for me.

I expected something to go horribly wrong but I must say that I didn’t expect this turn

They were noble. My brother was noble. Erekkus was noble. Anjelika was noble. What a kind thing to say at their graves. What a nice story to tell their grieving families, if there’s even anyone left.

Here, in this pained, messy version of Septimus, I saw myself. I saw more of myself than I had ever seen in another person.
And I hated that most of all.

How does she always write stuff that hits so much

I saw that version of myself in Septimus and I felt such a sudden,fierce compassion for him that it actually hurt

Damn, this book does not waste time

I love Carissa Broadbent, one of my favorite authors ever, I love the writing, the stories, the themes, the characters, the depth; she could write the grocery list and it would be beautiful. I don’t have a single worry about this book.
