Don't normally do updates, but felt compelled to say i have a good feeling about this one. Thing opens up like a classic disney tale but with a harder edge. Pumped to see where it goes.

Solid so far. Narrator is a therapist trying to treat this "silent patient" the book is about.

just hit a doozy quote tho: "it is impossible for someone who wasnt abused to become an abuser". I guess this 'professional' never heard of ted bundy? Idk, just shocking to see something so stupid in an otherwise competent book. Maybe regarding domestic abuse the quote fits, but it was NOT used in that context. Wild

We are PUSHING through this one, gang. I forgot how long it takes to get through philosophy stuff if you actually want to understand wtf is going on. Sometimes you read a sentence and you gotta ponder it for like 20 minutes by itself. Can be relaxing though, and a kind of discipline for the addled, dopamine-addicted mind such as mine. Hegel was impossible before this, but now he's just difficult lol. On we go.

Goodreads fam: if you listen to an audiobook, do you tell people you “read” that book? And if yes, why have you decided to be a degenerate cheater and liar?
