Been a great weekend for reading; always happy to cleanse my palette with some John Irving

I was expecting goblins running around hovels hitting each other with sticks but it’s actually a parlour drama about political intrigue and abuse. Good tho

There’s nothing particularly wrong with this and on a technical level it’s achieving everything it’s trying to; unfortunately, I can’t really be bothered to read it. There’s something about the prose that is just so uninteresting to me but I’m not sure how else you would write a story that also serves as a paelophilic (is that a word?) info dump.

Such a sharp juxtaposition between two distinct eras; been a pleasure learning more about poetry in the last 8 weeks
