fascinating how coupland wildly vacillates between having interesting observations about the possibilities of the future in his nonfiction to having nothing but obstinate, spiteful hatred of changes in society in his fiction

Im a quarter in and this book is going to have to fuck up real hard to lose its five star rating

The first paragraph alone is some of the strongest, most evocative writing I’ve seen in months. Im praying to god the rest of the book is just as good.

Gotta say I'm not living for the ‘metal animal companion’ concept

Writing and word choice is getting a bit rough. It feels way cheesier than it did in the first quarter of the book. I LOVED the opening and I wish it still had the same dark, gritty tone. I really think the large cast was a negative, the dynamics and tensions were so much better when it was just the first two characters.

The bits with the dang cat are kinda cringe, and I feel like the motivations and reactions of the past two characters have been recycled. The look just lost a star.

Pages are flying by, im devouring this story and loving it.

I'm living for the Vibes between Rags and Talon. Dirty Idiot and Pretty Rich Kid is the best dynamic.

This book broke my heart into a thousand pieces then dutifully ground each and every one under its’ heel.
