Kate is on page 92 of 345 of Some Like It Scot
Maybe if I read Katie as an intentional example of an exoticizing and othering travel writer, I can get to the end.

Kate is on page 173 of 180 of Tokyo Tarareba Girls, Vol. 4
It's ironic that it's the relationship between the three main women that's kept me reading this far, given that the mangaka seems to despise her characters, female friendship, women who don't contort themselves to whatever their boyfriend wants from them, and human relationships in general besides romantic love.

The anti-aging section is some body horror level stuff for sure.

Kate is on page 29 of 304 of The Professor in the Cage: Why Men Fight and Why We Like to Watch
This is an interesting book, but the author keeps making some pretty sweeping stereotypical statements through his writing. "Fighting [...] helps men seduce women, who have always been drawn to the blood on a duelist's hands"? Rein the broad statements in a little, you should know better as a professor.

And then this became a brutal horror story on top of everything else. Seriously, every time I think I can't love this book more, it proves me wrong.

This is like watching a train wreck, only you can't stop laughing because it's so well written. But really, Sigmund, you should run.

Sigmund, I hope you are not the reincarnation of the god I am starting to think that you are, because if you are, then I am so, so sorry.

I am so sorry, child. I'm so sorry.

The utter lack of author neutrality makes it hard to like this book, even though the subject is fascinating.

I've rolled my eyes so much while reading this book I'm growing concerned they'll fall out of my skull before I finish it.

The plot's "Turn of the Screw but the governess was a pederast" Gothic ghost story is just barely compelling enough to keep me reading, but good Lord, the hero and heroine deserve each other because they shouldn't be inflicted on anyone else.

Clegg has such a hyper-colonial tone to his writing that I'm not sure how long I'll be reading this. The subject is interesting, but this guy writes like a prick.

Fen, I understand that you are very freaked out right now, when you calm down you will hopefully realize "doing what's best for the pack" can VERY EASILY mean "not bringing about Ragnarok." I have faith that you can create a workable argument for this.

You can still be a hero! I believe in you, kid!
