It jumps between present and past with different POV for each. The present was less interesting until a third in, which is good timing for the uncertainty and incoming dark times in the past. The writing could be better, but the overall story is intriguing.

At this point, I'm postponing reading because the past last mentioned a pedophile, and I don't want to be down before this week's appointments.

I like it better than Snow's book. Although we know Haymitch's fate, this point has great suspense.

Ozma of Oz is my favorite story in this omnibus.

Loving this book! Looks like a new favorite read for me.

Pace and intrigue increase by the end of chapter 2. 👍

I'm not liking this one as much as Book 1, so I don't think I'll read Book 3. I enjoyed learning more about the Parshendi and spren most.

More than halfway through, and I'm less interested. Could potentially not finish it. 🤔 A motivation to finish is to know the differences in the movie adaptation firsthand.

He certainly likes to list. 🫤 I like the scene introductions, but not sure if I'll stick to this book.

Because of the technical beginning slowing down comprehension and repetition later, I was thinking 4 stars for this book. The side carry scene was worth bumping the stars! 😯 So, looking like 4.5 stars because the book still could have been edited to reduce repetition, which would also shorten this 1200+ paged book. Loving the values that led to the side carry scene. 🥲

I'm loving the art and Arctic scenes but not the writing.
