I’m in a horrible slump now that I’ve read everything Amanda Dykes has put out…any suggestions????? My favorites were Set the Stars Alight and Born of Gilded Mountains. But All the Lost Places was so beautiful too!! And Whose Waves These Are! And…you get the picture. I LOVED these books! I guess I don’t need necessarily read-alikes, but I love dual timeline and niche historical angles.

Of course, right after I post that, she gets it right.

The author has Aw and Ah mixed up. Every single instance of either is incorrect. But the rest of the book has been fun.

Anyone have recs for something light, funny, and squeaky clean?

Doing the audio on this, as every one of Turano's that I've heard so far has been FANTASTIC on audio, and I think this format works better for Flights of Fancy than the book did.

DNF, her books are tending more and more to only be clean in terms of “closed door”. Descriptions are getting edgier.

I will be so glad to be done with this series because I CANNOT WAIT to uncover all these characters' secrets and enjoy all the laughs I know await me. At the same time, I DREAD BEING DONE SO MUCH, because I don't think Turano is releasing anything else until next year. *cue sobs*

Ok, so I'm a huge Julie Klassen fan, and usually read her books as they come out. That being said, when the Tales of Ivy Hill were coming out, and I saw "book 1" on the first one, I determined to wait until all 3 were out to read them (typical for me at the time). I never read them, because the back of the book blurb never really drew me back to them *I own them all*. My question is, are they worth my time now?

I'm not going to finish this right now, most likely. Wrong stage of life for me.

I’m in a rut...I can’t do much suspense right now, comedy is getting on my nerves, Christmas is starting to get sappy, and I can’t get into my NetGalley reads. Anyone ever read Toni Shiloh? She looks promising, but I’m kinda scared to try someone new with the mood I’m in. I want something sweet, but not sappy, with good pacing and likeable characters that don’t carry an overload of trauma.

Good gravy granny, this book is exhausting.

Ya know, these books wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but they are definitely NOT boring.

If only every character didn’t have the same exact voice and manner...Aunt Ethel is the only one so far that is slightly variant.

Already off to an intriguing start...

Trying to get through this so I can give it back to the person who loaned it to me...so far, it’s not my thing.

These are getting better and better! So glad I was able to request the rest after I found the first two on Libby. I just forgot to request book 5, so I’m probably going to have to stare at book 6 through the weekend until the library gets it 😅🤪.
