Well, this is just delightful so far. :)

...interesting premise and I'm learning a lot about industrial pollution and rich white men have been lying to us about it since the start, but dear God the author is using this book to talk about auto accidents and examine her feelings re: her abusive father.

Six chapters (about an hour) into the audio book, and we've covered the (anthropomorphized) geology of the area and Mercer Island bridges. Ted Bundy has just been born. It's informational, but if you're expecting sensationalist true crime from the start, you'll be disappointed.
