I'm encouraged by Lloyd-Jones' writing. I agree with his stance on full-time ministry: lay-preaching is not Biblical by design. However, the exception is for the pastor that cannot be supported by the church due to financial difficulties.

Reading for seminary.

I appreciate how easy it is to read in general. Constantine captures the reader's attention by simplifying major themes in Paul's writings, thus allowing the reader (both of the book and Pauline letters) to arrive to their own conclusions.

As a complementarian, I wished he wrote more about 1Tim. 2:12.

Can't put it down. Interesting take on artificial intelligence too. Feels a bit slower than Ready Player One.

The “Craftsman” way of looking at tools seems pedantic, but carefully considering the tools I use for the sake of achieving an activity has served me well. Especially now that I’m considering some of the tools that I use for preaching, productivity, and other things…

Great read thus far. Slowly implementing some of the strategies outlined. For the first time, I'm excited to experiment on myself and my capability to concentrate.

"Who you think you are, what you think, feel, and do, what you love -- is the sum of what you focus on."

Surely, Philippians 4:8 comes to mind! To think deeply of Christ, His praiseworthiness, His glory, His majesty... we might been drawn by sheer awe of Him. Think, feel, love, and do things for Him. This is the supreme focus of the saints, that we make much of Him.

Thinking about the plight of young men today... not only are men destroyed for wanting to be more masculine, they are also encouraged (or forced) to be more effeminate.

The world has robbed men of Biblical truth to define manhood. The same for women and womanhood.

Gentleness, compassion, kindness... all robbed of their effects. Only the gospel can restore their meanings.

Refreshing, to say the least! So far, I've noted that the ordered man orders himself so that he is effective in serving others to his fullest and healthiest capacities.

Two things I've learned so far: I am a steward of time, and so I must learn how to use it effectively. It's a limited resource that I cannot "earn" back. I can earn money back, but not time.
