I have literally tried to finish this book fifteen times. I started putting marks on the cover like a prisoner does on the wall of their cell recording how many days they've been in jail. Admittedly, the fact that I can't just give it up probably says more about my mental health than the quality of this writing.

This book was 100% fresh up til when Dizzy actually became successful - now it's all dinner parties and who made this witty comment and which Duchess wore what and I am absolutely coding. So grateful I pissed my life up a wall so I don't have to put with any of that nonsense...

Aw, I'm going to have to give this book 3 stars instead of 4 because the romantic lead is a bore. Bring back Marco, at least he was a laugh!

Iiiii'm thinking this is the end of the line for me and "narrative style" histories. I'm glad it's connecting with some people who don't normally go in for non-fiction but I'm not comfortable with it.

Something about this book really upsets me and I'm loving it. In my mind it is directed by David Lynch with a soundtrack by Elliot Smith.
