Oh, it's been good up to now! I felt quite downcast when I got to the romance part because I've enjoyed it up to this point. Hopefully this will pass and we can get back to the adventure. To my tastes, romance is boring even when it's well written, which is extremely rare. I feel if romance isn't a strong point for an author, they should imply the relationship and then fade to black at the kiss because anything else is forced and cringe. And, as you know, I'm one of those tedious people who has to finish a book even if it's awful. And then I go about making my friends' lives miserable moaning about how the books I read are shit. I've only not finished 5 in my entire life. I'm surprised you haven't read this series! It's alright so far. But I just finished "Spock: Messiah!" so anything is an improvement...

Fascinating, to coin a phrase.Speaking of messiah's, I have been re-watching the entire 3 seasons of the 1972-1974 TV series, KUNG FU with David Carradine, where a half-Chinese Shaolin mink teachers trigger happy western cowboys to stop being so violent and ponder the essence of life. I highly recommend it, although sometimes it gets so sappy (pretty white blue eyed prairie women are always falling in love with what they can't have), it is almost camp.
