First chapter was tough to go through. There was no context clue what was happening from the back of the book. Sometimes this will create a mystery and make it so you want to read more. This time it made me get annoyed with the book. The second and third chapter got better but I'm still waiting for the thing that makes this author great for so many people.

The first two chapters definitely didnt hook me. Luckily by the third chapter it became a bit better and know im almost halfway!

Uhhmmm, I dont know whats going on but I'm not really enjoying this book 🙃
There are some interesting parts like the tales told at the meeting in Rivendell. However, I keep wishing to get to know about these stories while the characters are experiencing them, not as a tale told afterwards.

Finally, the time has come for me to start this epic story.
Im so excited and also a bit scared that it will be a bit of a let down.
Lets stay positive and believe that this story will be a story to remember!

Reading a chapter every weekday this year!!

I fully believe that translating Japanese to English loses some of its magic. So far, this book is not capturing my attention.

Victor is kind of HAP his dad, he gave him life by giving him a heart with a little of his blood. The story even says so I believe. Am I the only one then, who finds it strange that there are hints to a romantic relationship between Vic and HAP?!

Interesting passage at page 198. "Goods must be produced, but they must not be distributed. And in practice the only way of achieving this was by continuous warfare". No elaboration, maybe later

Im too tired and sick at the moment to truly appreciate this book me thinks.

I cant wait to finish this book.

I hope and pray that the author made the main character arrogant on purpose and that he will grow. Otherwise this is gonna be an annoying read.

It would have been good to know that this book has a slow start, especially compared to current fantasy with its high pace.
I want to say that I now enjoy the pace now that im accustomed to it, and at certain parts its true. However, some parts are still too descriptive without much happening, e.g. Simon crawling in the darkness.

The first 70 pages did not really grab me. Luckily after that it became more interesting.

Will this get better? Im getting a little tired with Andy's thoughts and actions.

So far, this book has been living up to my expectations and going beyond!!

Hmmm, I'm beginning to realise this book may not be for me.
There will be people who appreciate all the well thought out calculations but for me it really takes me out of the story.

Hmmm, the beginning chapter with Ling Taishi was interesting. Kinda lost interest with next two chapters :/

So far, I'm super impressed. The beginning immediately got me hooked and the new terms for things was slowly introduced.
This book makes me happy to read!
