Fascinating 1st chapter on the history of ventilation. So thankful to live in modern times! Of course, my ancestors will probably look back at this and laugh (you mean you have to use your hands? It's like a babies toy....)

Inspiring, I love the stories. As I've gotten farther in the author has seemed to get lazier with transitions from the historical personalities and the chronicles of his own pilgrimage which is making it a bit harder to read, but still enjoyable. I one day want to take my children on an adventure like this.

Reading on the plane to Japan, stopped and smiled twice to my wife in the first chapter, "I'm happy with our purchase!" It's refreshing to read something so entertaining, well-written, and thought provoking at the same time.

Finished this. A few laugh out loud moments, but not as many as I remember from 20 years ago. I enjoyed the two new stories - Young Zaphod Plays it Safe and Mostly Harmless. What a surprising ending!
