I am going through it with this book. Holy shit. I love all of them. Including dip shit Mike. Abby you’re killing me.

I’m having a really hard time with this one. I don’t like any of these people. Not even a little. I don’t like the writing either. I don’t like the depiction of Paris - it feels empty and arid and flavourless. Disappointed. Think I will dnf.

I think Cara Bastone googled “most disliked romance tropes” and decided to tackle all of them and make them her own. In her last book she took on the surprise pregnancy trope.

In this book she is taking on the dreaded miscommunication trope along with marriage in crisis. And tacking on a horrific accident! She doesn’t do easy that’s for sure.

So of course it’s not easy for us either.

I am struggling with this book. Ugh

I just skipped book number whatever in this series and this book feels interchangeable with the Bailey Hannah book i just read. Infertile sister. Cowboys. Big family on a ranch. Feels the same. Except the wells ranch books are better.

Something happened but the book is being coy. It’s very annoying this is going to be a slog.

Oh. And I’ve hated both characters up to this point as well. They were poorly written and then just suddenly have chemistry? The FMC is an idiot. With absolutely no personality. The MMC is a “bossy boss” wtf is that? He’s angry for good reason but then not? This thing is a mess.

It ticks me off that I have to get to this far in the book to have to realize that I don’t like this flavour of intimacy. I mean it took 61 % before the author decided to reveal it. If it had been written at 4% I would have DNFd. This is shitty.

Having a hard time getting into this. I don’t get these characters or why they supposedly like one another. Easton is a robot bitch. Elijah is an idiot.

So I’m starting to doubt that we are going to get a Season 2 of Heated Rivalry. The US is about to start a global and civil war. That will have repercussions for us in Canada. Will there be TV production in the middle of a war? Can we move Connor Storrie to a safe location in Canada now?

Barnes and Noble put up Book 7 of the game Changers series on their website this morning. It’s apparently releasing in September of this year! It’s called Unrivalled. There’s legit ISBNs. What do you think? Big time boo boo or was this just how the crappy Harlequin publishing house is handling a hugely successful book series now?

I might have to re-read Heated Rivalry in between we-watches of the first two episodes. Holy Hell Rachel Reid put crack in all of it. I’m a #Shilyac for life now.

Wow. The Heated Rivalry adaptation is so spot on and hot and perfect. The casting is miraculous. I love my Canadian TV show. Waiting between episodes is going to end me. I hope the Red White and Royal Wedding folks watch it and become braver.

I would honestly like to speak with Max and Monroe about this novel. I have grave concerns. I want to ask them if they have any experience with Dementia at all. There are several things in this book that make me think that they are using the disease as a plot device without knowing much about it.

People who rate a book with some bullshit low stars before the ARC is even available because “I’m not tanking the ratings- this is how I know I want to read it”. Sure dumbass that sounds good when there is an actual want to read button.
