Currently having a hard time with this... I really like the characters and think they're all pretty dynamic, but the plot is boringggg. Tired of hearing about the veil and all the things that I'm having a hard time making sense of relating to the Maiden. I also sense there's a plot twist coming, so guess we'll see if I'm as tuned in as I think I am

Hm I was hopeful a reread of this would help me realize that I liked it more than I remember, but i'm not fully convinced right now. As usual, Emily's writing is amazing, but something about this "ex" best friend / lack of communication thing makes me feel anxious to just get the conflict over already.
