Karen is reading 5 Very Good Reasons to Punch a Dolphin in the Mouth and Other Useful Guides
I love The Oatmeal, but I didn't think through how difficult it would be to read comics on a kindle...can't continue sadly. I will definitely get a hard back copy of this from my library.

Karen is reading A Visit from the Goon Squad
I vowed that I would leave no book unfinished this year, so I am not going to take this book off of my list, but it's going to be here a while. I have absolutely no interest in this story.

I thought I would feel uplifted by the personal stories of teachers. I don't. The writing is bad, and the stories are tired, repeated tales that should be made into hokey country songs.

Karen is on page 86 of 188 of Tornado Warning: A Memoir of Teen Dating Violence and Its Effect on a Woman's Life
A gripping story, but I feel like the author's grown-up perspective is too strongly defined when she is writing from her teenage point-of-view.

This book has forty more pages to hook me before I give up on it.

Karen is on page 5 of 369 of Louisa May Alcott: An Intimate Anthology
I spent last night pouring over the introduction to the book, which is filled with biographical information about the Alcott family, as well as the other transcendental writers of Concord, Mass. This book is not meant for quick consumption, but it is a must-read for die-hard fans.

I didn't think I was going to like this book at all, but I am shunning all of my other current reads to speed through it.

Light Boxes is an amazing novel. I could have finished it in one sitting, but I am enjoying it so much that I feel the need to take it slow and ingest it in small portions.
