Beautiful

Never been more excited and scared to start a sequel book before. Especially not a book with no pictures. It's crazy but I'm here for it. I think/hope I'm ready.

Such beautiful and lush artwork. This is exactly the kind of magic story book I was looking for this year and my whole life. I love a good fairytale and an illustrated one to boot just makes it perfect.

Darn, I guess Daisy doesn't make it. But now I get to find out why she doesn't make it. Or maybe she does and (plot twist) she is the secret contact all along!! Duh duh dunnn!

So far this book as been equal parts looking into a mirror and being liberated from my own life. Crazy but I love it.

Still loving the macabre of it all. I'm beginning to appreciate poetry, too. It seems that even the nonpoetic chapters have a cadence to them that pushes the story along in a symphony of dark rhythm.

There is something beautifully disturbing about watching a character reach their goals while going insane.

Wonderfully depressing so far. I wish it was raining to really set the mood for this dark emotional journey.

Curiouser and curiouser

So close and yet so far. This is the most casual ghost story ever! The ghosts could literally walk in an fix themselves a drink at any point and it would be absolutely organic. I don't know that this counts as Gothic anymore but whatever I've come to far to quit now

Holy shit this is taking a long time. Though I am glad to be reading this during pride month I'm sad that its taking so long to get through. The more I think about it the more I want to finish the story.

Somehow I'm almost completely through this novel with no idea how its going to end and no prayer of prediction. Its a new and unexpected feeling. I like it but I'm left worrying if that just means the ending is going to be a let down.
