well documented but my god it is one of the most brutal and honest books about conquest i’ve read. the language is appalling to read nowadays and glosses over so many things, but does not hold back any truths, just doesn’t point a critical eye at them. an interesting read, amazing how crucial dogs were to the colonization of the caribbean and americas
