It is quite fascinating learning how he grew up and how independent he was. I was pleased to learn that he strongly opposed Andrew Jackson’s Indian Bill and voted against it while in office causing quite a ruckus. He could foresee the suffering and deaths that would occur by forcing the Native Americans from their homes. His book concludes in 1834. He would die 2 years later at the Alamo.

I am finished reading this story by Georgia Hunter who bases it on the lives of her Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother and so many of her other loved relatives who were confronted by the Holocaust. It is a powerful book, beautifully written and hard to put down once you start.

I’m about half way through. It is very power and well written.
