If I wasn’t reading this for a challenge, I would DNF.

“I’ve read much more grating narrative voices, lord knows” is very close but not close enough to being self aware.

The narration is more inline with the YA genres. The parentheticals are too abundant and go so far as to break immersion, and I love parentheticals.
