This really started with a bang! I was unsure since the pov is of a teenager, but I couldn’t stop reading after the first 5%! I didn’t expect a major event this early!

I’ve been going back and forth between the book and the audible. So much gets lost in audible. The world building and numerous characters are easier to follow in the book.

I’m completely obsessed with Princesses Donuts Royal Court!

Hey, we aren’t disappointing at the moment! With 19 pages left, I’m already dying for the second book!

I’m going to be disappointed when the book ends along with all the other disappointments in it. A fun play on the title. This book is everything I could have wanted! I need the second one already!

Incredibly whimsical. The world building is in depth without feeling like it is taking too long. As always, I appreciate the advanced vocabulary and word play.

This is getting hard to get through. I’ve lost interest, but I don’t leave a book unfinished. I hope it turns around. The main character is definitely bored and lost, but where is the drama?

Feels a lot like hollow places so far.

A cute guy told me he liked this book, and in trivia he missed the question about this author being the second most sold author (other than the Bible authors.) So, I’m reading it.

10/10. Frieda has done it again! The emotional rollercoaster, white knuckles, and lack of breath from holding it too long, was everything I didn’t expect! Someone please tell me Frieda has a therapist.

I’m enraged by the main character. I think the twists and turns are about to start!

Her writing is truly captivating! The first chapter has so much emotion.

I lost complete interest at 80%. What the hell? Possessed taxidermy? This just got ridiculous. Kept going. 89% isn’t much better. But at least we are on the willow world now and not earth.

*** Spoiler *** They found their way back home at 50% from the willow world? It was perfectly creepy, and I was not ready for them to leave it. I hope there is a good twist coming up.

I can’t even believe how many twists, turns, and surprises were in the first 30%! There have been even more after!

I’ve never had a book choke me up with tears at 8%. Holy sh*t.

Odd. I do not like that each chapter rotates between 5 people. The writing isn’t whimsical at all. It is bland, much like a middle school elementary paper, if not worse. The writing from the protagonist point of view could be done better as well. The idea of preying on children to murder them is unsettling, and somehow boring here. This could end up on the DNF list.

If you like old folk tales, this is the book for you! I did not see this one coming. Nor did I expect it to get this unsettling. 👀
