Any discussion of consent and collaboration under authoritarian/fascist rule hits me hard. I love and look up to my grandfather, but i also have to reckon with what our family's bystanding contributed to.

This is probably the most excited I've ever been for a Star Wars book!
You'd think this is describing WW2 and fascism. And it is definitely that. But it's an in-universe history book about the Galactic Empire, analyzing what makes authoritarianism repeatedly pop up despite the "lessons" that should have been learned.
I have only finished the introduction and I am such a fan already. So many highlights.

Does stairway to heaven originate from this book?

Kip's dad is no joke one of the best characters. So supportive and loving.

I wish Reid had more of a vocabulary. Maybe a thesaurus?

Despite being first, I actually think the writing in this is better than Heated Rivalry.
