Got to the part where the giant, friendly, psychic spider showed up doing jazz hands and you know what? I'm not finishing this. Andy Weir is not a serious human being, let alone a serious writer. Don't know what I was thinking. Philip DeFranco can have this trash.

This is becoming a movie soon and it's not like I'm actually that invested in Weir as a """writer""", but I did somehow accidently read the Martian before that movie came out, so why not? I'll finish it, sure.

Two chapter in, this basically the same kinda plot as The Martian and the prose are just unreadable, the character is unlikable, all the jokes are bad. Maybe the worst novel I've cracked open in over a decade?
