i might finally be as interested as i expected to be. well, no. i expected to be way more interested. i guess i might finally be interested at all. idt the book is boring, but i am bored. less so now. arty is a diva. ofc he is, look at his parents.

how tf did haneke read this and know it would make a great movie. so far it’s ALL internal monologue, sentences flow into each other, we jump from one setting to another and back to the original setting, there’s so much figurative language… how…

this is like a more and less realistic version of the movie dinner in america without the romance + the movie southland tales + what i imagine the book hysteria by jessica gross is like + the movie greener grass. it also feels very red scare podcast. idk how to verbalize what that means but it's like they would read this, like it, and then unprovoked say something racist. it's a weird vibe.

hmmmm... it's looking a little wlw in here... not that it has to be (i wasn't/am not expecting this to include romance), but i'm picking up what's being put down, whether or not it's being put down

so far this feels like the big scene in this came to the author, and she wanted to flesh it out into a novel length project but didn't do enough to justify the length (and it's a short book anyway). but imma stick beside her as a big psychological body horror/cronenberg-head who wanted to be a surgeon as a child.

i fear i get her. not the dog stuff though, none of the dog stuff, not even the innocuous not evil dog stuff like walking it.
