I think this is one of the few books where the opening chapter being set in the future is not paying off, it was exciting at first, but now it feels so clear that the MC is ignoring so many red flags that it’s not as fun to read, I’ll be happy if there’s a twist to prove my thinking wrong but right now is meh

I was scared I wouldn’t be able to get into this because I tend to avoid modern based fiction but the opening section of the 2023 part was so effective at getting me hooked I’ve been enjoying chewing on HOW DOES SHE END UP THERE? (Very Nancy Drew: Phantom of Venice)

Gotta say, reading the way that thin people write from the perspective of being in a fat, while I’m actively getting hate comments about my weight, is really killing my enjoyment of this book. sobbing in embarrassment upon seeing yourself in a fat body.,, cool… not everything is about me but I am taking an L today

The audiobooks is absolutely ruining any positive memories I had of this it feels so awkward 😭 honestly I must have read this so fast I didn’t have time to dwell on the writing but having to listen to a MAN read it is 🫣🫣🫣

Sadly the audiobook does make me realize how insane this story is, however I need to be mentally 12 rn so this is perfect
