Ngl I hate when sequels start in the middle of a plot or like a “two weeks later” vibe and so much has happened in the two weeks between the first book and the second bc even tho I just finished the first I still have to keep checking if I read something or it was within this mysterious two week period

Bought this 6 years ago…..feeling at a very academic point in my life and would like to pile onto that with something else that will fascinate and hurt my brain

I didn’t even tandem read this with the odyssey bc the odyssey I forgot was actually so incredibly captivating so

I love this translation so far
I also love translators who recognize that Homer wasn’t fucking speaking on old English and actually translate like normal human beings and make art accessible to everyone!!!!!

I’ve read the old stuffy versions and ofc they’re artful but this is making the read and the story come to life

Currently re reading this translation in preparation for Christopher Nolan—will be tandem reading with something else bc I’ll need breaks ofc
