I don't understand why we're spending so much time on Mingus. So many words, and yet not a single important thing being said. This book is overall pointless so far

This book has been highly anticipated and on my TBR for a few years, but this has been a chore to read. I'm about 40% in and not even sure if I want to continue 😭

Maybe i'm just not used to unrequited love stories, but Vera is coming off a just plain creepy and stalker-ish....

I know this will all tie together, but there are sooo many unlikeable characters right now. (luckily it's not the fmc or mmc, only the side characters)

Both of these narrators are just awful 😂
The female narrator is okay for the FMC but can't do men's voices.
The male narrator is annoying in general and even worse as women's voices.

I was on such a good streak of narrators lately; it had to be broken at some point 😭

I don't really like dark romances but i love western romances, so we'll see how this goes!!
I love the FMC's name ... Stetson. So pretty and unique and perfectly western

I LOVE a contemporary royalty romance, so I can't wait for this one <3

Time of Death: 39%

1. The narrator is talented but the accent is so thick its somewhat hard to understand/follow
2. I'm bored with how long this is. I want it to either pick up in pace or just be over already
3. Honestly wish there was less sex scenes

The ending of Part 1 seriously made my heart stop????????

I genuinely would not have picked up this book if I knew the TWs. With how intense it is, there should have been something mentioned in the description or at least at the beginning in an author's note. so disappointing

This book is intense and heartbreaking. I just want every character to finally catch a break.
I think the description was very misleading to not have included the TWs or at least referenced that there are sensitive topics and warn to look into the TWs if you feel you may need to. I'm not sure I would've picked this up if I knew. I hope the heartbreak is worth it by the end...
