Exploring the friendship that developed between Tolkien and Lewis is fascinating. Really enjoying this book.

Nearly there and a big plot development just happened.

Somewhere around here. Moving pretty quickly. Christianity is outlawed for some reason and the protagonist's father has been incarcerated because a Bible was found in their house. The protagonist, a teenage female, is stuck trying to figure out what to do next to help her father and avoid being imprisoned herself.

Lewis and Tolkien are now together at Oxford. The famous discussion in September of 1931 on religion, paganism, and Christianity has convinced Lewis to renounce his atheism and become a Christian.

The Great War has come to a close and altered society in its wake. We're about to discover how Tolkien and Lewis were able to produce works of literature extolling the virtues of war in a world that was tired of it.

Nearly finished. Will save my thoughts for the review.

I'm finding this interesting, so far. We're learning about the attitudes of both authors towards the war and beginning to see how their experiences shaped their later works.

The plot is beginning to unfold. As others have noted, there are some strange typos in this copy, such as a sentence stopping and continuing on a new line. I'm also not a fan of the use of capital letters to denote noise or emotion. I think using language to describe this is more effective and less jarring for the reader.

I've got to admit, I'm really enjoying this. Pike's take on the world of high fantasy is very entertaining without losing the elements of a good story.

We're moving forward in time. I'm finally recognizing some of the figures that are being covered!

Still quite enjoyable, but itching for the Seven Heroes to actually begin their quest.

I'm still finding this fascinating. Didn't bring this home over Christmas vacation, so progress has been slow.

The dangerous mission is starting to reveal itself. Still really enjoying the satirical humor.

I'm just getting into this, but so far the writing style is entertaining and the bones of the plot promise a good read.
