For those interested, I'm up to the part where the narrator offers the following: "The baby farted for an improbably long time, like when someone treads on a woman's skirt and the material starts loudly ripping."

Not sure how Toth should have felt, dropping such a gold nugget so early in the novel.

Certainly not for everyone, but I find it to be pretty damned good so far. Not standard for me to crack open a book and not stand again until after I'd read half the bastard. Hoping the second half stands up to the standard set by its twin.
